ELEVATE YOUR GAME- Shooting Drills

This is a series of shooting drills we do using a “Shoot Away” or “The Gun.” You can do these with a partner as well.

ELEVATE YOUR GAME – Dribble Jab Series

This drill works on the dribble jab step. When done correctly the jab off the bounce will get your defender leaning and you can create separation for a jumper or drive to the basket. The jab has to be short and quick- too long of a jab will get you off balance thus be ineffective

ELEVATE YOUR GAME – Drill of the Month- November

This is a stationary ball handling drill for athletes of all levels. To ensure you get the most out of this drill, perform it at game speed. Make sure to keep the pace of the ball at a high level and dribble with your eyes up, to see the floor. As always, work both your strong and your weak hand.

ELEVATE YOUR GAME – Drill of the Month- August

This is a drill that teaches footwork and to protect the ball as you transfer or “rip through” from hip to hip. It is important to stay low, and use your first step or “Beat Step” as a quick explosive step. As always do the drill Game Speed!

ELEVATE YOUR GAME – Drill of the Month- June

This is a series of drills to help increase your ball handling skills. These drills will implement a variety of dribble moves- the key is repetition and to go full speed!

ELEVATE YOUR GAME – Drill of the Month- May

The first drill is a good warm up drill that will work on strengthening your right and left hand around the basket, along with your hand eye coordination. The second drill will work on a low post to high post flash into a jump shot. Be sure to meet the pass and when you face up read the defense to either rip through for a 1 dribble jump shot or catch face and jump shot.

ELEVATE YOUR GAME – Drill of the Month- April

This drill will work on your ball handling, it is a great dribble drill for all ages. It will teach you to stay low on your dribble and will build muscle memory in your strong and weak hand.

This drill will work on your ball handling, catching, and hand-eye coordination.
